Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The Insurance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of insurance claims and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office administration, medical coding, and knowledge of insurance procedures. Duties: - Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients - Collect and update patient information, including medical records and insurance details - Process insurance claims accurately and efficiently - Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve any issues or discrepancies - Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations for procedures - Maintain knowledge of current coding guidelines, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and medical terminology - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes - Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and coverage - Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, policies, and procedures - Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality Experience: - Previous experience working in a medical office or dental office setting is required - Proficiency in medical coding and billing processes - Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance claim submission requirements - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively - Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health record systems Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.
